Anyway, it’s Monday, which means I have been drawing! I’m very proud of myself for keeping up this weekly artwork producing project thing.

So here are my latest creations.

I really REALLY need a flat bed scanner. Taking photo’s of my drawings is just shocking, they look so dark :(

I have only worked on one drawing today, but I did a small experimental painting yesterday and a cat drawing on Saturday night.

This is today’s work, I started the king fisher looking bird today, I think he’s a blue bird actually. The sparrow I did last week.

This is a small picture of the silly little painting a did.

And this is my cat drawing, it’s called “All Dolled Up & No Place To Go”

But today, due to my dog having an accident on the carpet in the weekend, all the furniture in the lounge was moved into the garage, including the TV and the internet modem, ready for the carpets to be cleaned. So I was tv-less and internet-less all day (although I did have the flat screen and xbox 360 upstairs so I did in fact have a Community marathon while I was drawing).

Anyway, so this is what 8 or so hours without the lounge accomplished…

This was the teaser picture I took first, because my initial thoughts were “I’m going to take this so slow, it’s ok if it takes more than a day” but I ended up finishing it today anyway…

And I even started working on a second drawing. You might see that next week?

I’ve decided to dust off one of the cameras and take it for a spin today.

This is the chosen one :)

I’ll take a walk around my city of ruins and see what I can spot. There are some pretty cool projects going on around the city so I will most likely find something. I’ll post some pics if they turn out.

So my series of plates titled Serving Suggestion is showing in the exhibition “Hatch”. It opens this Thursday (the 17th of December) and is located down His Lordships Lane, off Lichfield St in Christchurch. This location is also known as SOL Square, a small area of popular shops and bars. Hatch is showing in the old Illicit Clothing shop, and it open until Christmas Eve.

Other artists include:
Lucy Atkinson, Nick Heaphy, Doug Marquet, Amelia Rayner, Hayley Roberts, William Shaw, Charlotte Suckling, Mallory Tippet and Kelly Williams.

Drinks are provided by Cartel on the open night.

Serving Suggestion stema from a genuine concern I have for animal welfare and a personal belief that if an individual chooses to consume meat, they should not be sheltered from the truth of where that meat comes from. Nor should they be sheltered from the torture that an animal undertakes to be delivered to their plate.

Serving Suggestion explores anti censorship of meat production: the six antique china plates display drawings of animals being tortured and stripped of their flesh for consumption, on the very plate from which meat is consumed.
